Now don't you all get your panties in bunch. Whether "Let Go" is good or not is your opinion but if that album made the most impact out of any other album in your life, then maybe you haven't explored music enough.

Rob, thank you for mentioning Mariah Carey's "Butterfly." It's probably her greatest album and along with most of her albums, it's a beyond solid effort. Her cover of "The Beautful Ones" is insane but's lets not forget the album's true gem, "Close My Eyes."

Wait... so the best album of all time had to come out 10 years ago? Please, I have listened to plenty of music, and Let Go is amazing.
I don't know, maybe if you would listen to it before judging it because it's AVRIL LAVIGNE then you would understand.
Oh.. and especially when people are stating I Am Me or A Little More Personal to be their favorite albums of all time, I'd expect you to target them instead of someone who stated Let Go to be their favorite.

I'm not targeting anybody. And yes, I've heard Let Go and IMO, UMS is FAR better. But the point is there are alot of better albums out there than you modern pop albums. Explore!

That doesn't make sense to me .
You praised Mariah's emancipation and it's out last year , so if someone said that was his/her favourtie album of all time ,does that mean that he explored music enough?
Most likely ,NO. Because it was a huge commerical album that even my 10 years old brother loved it.
"Let Go" was a good album and it had some serious pop songs, and I don't think there's any wrong if someone thought it's their all time favourtie album, as long as you can relate to the music in that album ,or get touched by the lyrics more than any other album. Why not?

Even though I praised TEOM, it is pretty far from my favorite album of all time and I don't see why it would be in anyone's Top 10 of all time either. I'm not saying this because it's commercial either. The album is incapable of making that much of an impact on your life. When Mariah created it, those weren't her intentions and it's obvious.
Maybe I was a bit offensive in saying what I said. I don't know. I personally think some of you are far too sensitive and that isn't my problem. You can love Avril Lavigne and her music, but to say "Let Go" is your favorite album of all time, IMO, means you haven't explored music enough.

meh, I liked "The Emancipation Of Mimi." It had every type of song, upbeat and ballad, and all tracks were enjoyable, while some were just amazing to me.
<333 "Stay The Night"
...and "It's Like That," "We Belong Together," "Shake It Off," "Don't Forget About Us," and "So Lonely"...

And I agree completely. The album was solid. But even in comparison to other Mariah Carey albums, it definitely isn't the best.

Maybe you're the one who were more offensive than them being sensetive.
Imagine if you said " Marvin Gaye's "what's going on" is your all time favourtie album ,and then someone jumped and told you "LFR. how can this be your all time fav".It's the same.
The type of music is another reason that you should consider , not all pop fans like pop/rock genre, not all of them like the bubble gum pop, ,some might prefer the rnb/pop but they don't like Mariah's style , so telling them to explore is kinda mean.

Mazen, why are arguing with me? I'm making valid points and you keep shooting them down.
It isn't the same. And telling someone to explore shouldn't be offensive. The person who refuses to listen to more than one or two genres is just shallow and possibly ignorant.

Nobody refuses to listen , but my ear is different than yours.
This is the point!

This is quite the arguement going on...I respect and accept both Brian and Mazen's point, as being equally valid, but I guess the underlying factor is that Brian, I guess you don't need to suggest that other people listen to other music (although I understand the intention is good), but rather more accept wut they have chosen. I just think the only thing you did wrong is to present your points in a rather critical way...that's all. ^ _ ^
