Toxic is electronica? Maybe dance but electronica might be going too far

And Toxic changed nothing. It was an early 2004 single and pop radio got even more urban in later 2004 and 2005

And a dance Grammy, especially back then had less power. Nobody cared about that category until recent years.

The biggest single by a female of 2004? How when it peaked at #9 on the Hot 100 and on the year end chart #48, I believe Alicia Keys' "If I Ain't Got You" was biggest female song of the year

No to GM. That rhythmic/dance sound went out of style the next year and was replaced with non urban infleinced dance

But yes to HIAM. We've seen the impact from that

Toxic was truly one of the first Modern day Electronic songs to be a hit, especially during the Rap/urban trend in the early to mid 00s. It as well as other songs like Hollaback girl help started the Electronic/Dance trend.

HIAM did start the popstep trend that we have in songs now, but that's for another thread

Like I said in another post, Toxic didn't change anything. People just got more urban and R&B after that

And Hollaback Girl isn't dance/electronic at all

I'd credit Justin Timberlake for bringing Electro Pop to the US. Toxic was released when? 03? Urban blew up in 04 and 05 and it was after JT did it in 06 is when it finally took off.
