I just realized that if this rule was last year when S&M reached #1 then S&M by Rihanna feat. Britney Spears would have been #1 on R&B Songs because of the digital sales of the Rihmix

S&M charted on the R&B airplay charts at #59 even higher than Diamonds before this change.

What is the point of this when the Hot 100 already exists? Billboard is basically just assigning arbitrary genre #1's now.

R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Songs were reduced to 50 positions and 10 positions, respectively, so is the latter chart going to be equivalent to numbers 51-60 below the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart? Wikipedia users cleaning up and expanding discographies are going to be outraged.

Rock Songs chart was a terrible idea back in 2009, and now it's completely irrelevant. Why couldn't Billboard make Mainstream Rock, Active Rock and Triple A available on their main website? I'm just glad they didn't touch those charts or Alternative Songs.

Yeah, there's already a big debate going on as to whether or not Bubbling Under songs should be ranked in the 'Hot 100' columns as '1##'. This will make it much worse, believe me.
