The song did its job better than expected, not better than OTF but it's still impressive. Top 10/20 US iTunes and #1/ top10/5 overseas with no promo in and outside the US for the whole month until American Idol performance which helped the song to re-enter top 10 US iTunes, and it's still the only promo she's ever done for this song.
The lack of promo is a mess in the latest eras, even OTF, her biggest hit, had only 1 US performance. If she promoted the song better, it would have hit the number one spot instead of 3 in Billboard 100.
If you talked about Louboutins or Fresh Out The Oven, I would agree with you, but this is not the case.
