It's by far her best up tempo.... I knew from the 30 second clip I was gonna love it and I wasn't wrong... I just can't believe this song will be given to someone else instead of JoJo using it for herself
It is! OMG, the lyrics!
The lyrics honestly speak to me. I always let people hold me back and I really relate to that one.
These lines:
"I can't just be your girlguy , I need to see the world and if that's something you can't arrange, then I'll be jumping trains!"
The lyrics, the production, vocals, the harmonies/backing vocals... it's just magical. I finally got beats headphones a couple of weeks ago and listened to it with them and I was practically sobbing. The instruments (violins, piano etc.) just slayed me.
My only complaint is the vocal effects. Most of the effects aren't needed and get a little annoying and make it hard to understand some words.
I've had it on repeat for the last hour haahh... but I see whatcha mean with the vocal effects... like when she first starts singing it's a little hard to understand what she is saying

And I love the acoustic too.
I love both versions. Jumping Trains really does sound "magical". The whole feel and melody, it's indescribable.
Jumping Trains is one of my favorite JoJo songs ever and I'm so happy that it's the title track. The message and the concept of that song is incredible.

I think the live version of Jumping Trains is better cause on the album version her vocals sound slightly over-produced

Yeah!! I don't like the vocal effects in the very beginning. It feels out of place.

Hun, I hope you know Beats are overpriced and are pieces of poo. Want good headphones? get sienheiser hd ones, I got the hd 280 and they are perfect for my producing
I've been noticing some of her leaks sound a tad dated. I hope the fact that this album started production years ago doesn't affect the sound of the album.

Well this was recorded in 2008 so it makes sense that it sounds dated. Most of the songs on the album now were recorded in the past year, she keeps going back into the studio and changes the album every couple of months.
It was... I think either Toby himself or JoJo said it somewhere

This song was recorded back in 2008... And I don't think this will be on the album tbh

I wonder how many version of the album have there been to date. Its a never ending process. The album just needs to come out already!

I imagine that this album has had a different track listing and direction countless number of times. She never stops recording and she said she's not gonna stop until her label tells her they need the album. But you're right, they need to finalize it and release this damn album.
Dr. Luke should be here.
Didn't he produce Jumping Trains, which so far is my favorite song
JoJo has not worked with Dr. Luke. "Jumping Trains," "Balance," "Play This Twice," "Play This Twice (Pancake Interlude)," "Safe With Me," and "Boy Without A Heart" were all produced by the Messingers.
Side note, but I'd give anything to have a studio version of "Play This Twice" since it is apparently not going to be on the album.
JoJo & Gita both confirmed several times that "Play This Twice" WILL be on the album. Jo even recorded an interlude for it called "Pancake Interlude". She also wrote/recorded several versions of the song.
