He said on his twitter that he's the creative director for this album so I guess this is really his vision, I do love the photograph and the font is ok but I hate the background effect. I think that's what makes it so cheap looking.
I wonder if he'll use an effect for the font on the physical copy though..
For what the cover is, it's great. But I can't help but wonder what could have been. With an album title like Trespassing I was hoping for something else as an album cover, definitely wasn't expecting another portrait. But he looks great and the font reminds me of that yellow police tape, which I think is a good possibility for influencing that look.
I like the text, but the picture is plain.
