I'm only talking about the UK in response to someone who said the UK very rarely supports good lyricism when it clearly does.
I don't really know why you posted that quote in response though...

Yes, the dance/electro/techno movement is ruining the power of lyrics and words.

People won't go for pop songs if they wanted meaningful lyrics. ![deadbanana2](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/bananas/deadbanana_zps933fcf47.gif) 90% of the current pop is about getting on the floor and partying.

Well I thought that using her as the standard for lyricism was a little much that's all.

I think that's enough.
So before you make a post trying to degrade the lyrics of pop songs, while glorifying your fave numerous times, maybe you should take a look at the lyrics from your own fave first.
No hard feelings, just don't drag others while glorifying your fave when there's no reason to.

Aren't those JUST the choruses? You left out the verses, but that was a nice try though.

Fair enough. I take back my comments. I guess all that I hear played is dance tracks. But to be fair, Europe in general is well known for it's dance music. I did not single out the UK, I grouped it in with Europe.
P.S. - nothing to do with what we have discussed but I see you where at the Monster Ball in Belfast - me too ![:D](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Don't speak for all 16 year olds, some of them are in this very thread and I'm sure they disagree wholeheartedly. ![deadbanana](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/korn0818/ATRL_Smilies_All/bananas/deadbanana2_zpsd45da7d4.gif)

It depends what radio station you listen to and if you go to clubs a lot and what clubs you go to.
Orly? You live in Belfast then?

No it doesn't.
You only posted the hooks of Beyonce's songs. There are actually verses that aren't repeating the same thing over and over.
Some songs don't even have verses anymore. Well.... maybe they do, but if anything, the verses and chorus/hook are exactly the same thing in today's world.
People are becoming less creative.

No it doesn't, because most choruses repeat genius, thats the point of a chorus to begin with. Those songs have VERSES and lots of them, most songs today do not, THAT is the point.

Most people my age that I know through Facebook etc, only really listen to dance music, I often get looked down on when Coldplay or the Killers are mentioned.
An no, I live just outside Belfast in Holywood ![:D](http://www.atrl.net/forums/images/smilies/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Ok...I'm young so thanks for calling me dumb
I'm kinda over the dance-beat #1 domination. I love songs that have some AMAZING lyrics along with melody and instruments. Although sometimes I think more about the instruments than the lyrics, its nice that song talks about issues like love, relationships, life, etc. instead of sex, drugs and party rock (had to say it)
I have nothing against LMFAO or David Guetta or anyone of those dance/electronic people, because that's their thing and they're doing it pretty good, but after listening to Sexy And I Know It two times.....I was over it, and the only time I ever listen to the song is at parties

Same here. Actually I like the sound of the combination between the lyrics and the instrumental. The meaning of the lyrics is just an extra to me (I am talking here for the pop songs).
