I fail to see how releasing an album each year diminishes it's value. You really think it takes two years to work on an album? You can come up with an idea in one second, so one year is more then enough time. People who work so long on an album get desensitized from their work and it doesn't always end up very good.

And of course the manager wants hits....what manager doesn't?

And the length of the album is irrelevant to it's quality. I'd rather have 11 songs that are good then 17 songs that i have to skip every now and then.

I don't see why are people acting like Rihanna is the only artist to ever do this. The Beatles, Mariah, Jay-Z, and Barbra Streisand etc have all done it.

This. I mean, when you take out the filler on the deluxe edition of BTW (Hair, BJAF, FOHL, EC, GH) you are left with 12 tracks.

People do want new music all the time and if not getting it from one artist will easily move on to the next artist. Although that is only if they have the time to make a quality album in a year and if it is not bad for the artists health. 18 months is perhaps a more realistic time frame.

I don't give a **** what Prince did but Michael did NOT put out an album every year for hit records, quality and an immense amount of hard work went into creating a solid album, a album with great lyrics that contain substance and he was very hands on with his albums. The same can't be said for Ms. Fenty who needed damn near 40 song writers on her last album, and they're following that same formula for this album. A album made for hit records. Let's not compare Robyn to Michael in that aspect.

Don't give me that ****. MJ wanted "hits" too. What artist doesn't? She recorded the songs because she loved them and fit her personality. Them being hits was just the cherry on Top. She wasn't the one who had Dr. Luke Produce her whole album.
