Age doesn't matter to Taylor, she and Mariah have the same mindset: they are 12 forever
In their minds.

I remember when Hips Don't Lie was big and I read this interview Shakira did in People and it said that she was 29. I couldn't believe it. I thought she was about 22 at the most.

Male artists get away with everything that their female counterparts get criticized for.

Don't shade Kathy Beth Terry! Lmao. It was Katy's throwback to the 80s and 90s, and there's nothing wrong with creating nostalgia. It's all about how it's done.

Pour the tea sis. Katy acts her age for the most part, tho she looks early 20's... especially when she wears less makeup.

Lmao. I can't believe I'm hearing this from a Katy stan.
At least Avril isn't a married, supposedly religious woman who's in her mid-twenties and yet sprays whipped cream out of her titties.

It depends on your view on how a person should act at 26. Some can be more mature some can have a young mindset still. It all depends. Katys a good balance. I have seen her get very serious in interviews, on twitter, etc. But she still has the youthful bubby personality aswell. But she's definitely a grown ass woman who can think and speak for herself. Now, If you're talkimg about the whole Kathy Beth terry thing or her music that is irrelevant to how she acts. Her music is good fun, and is more popular with a younger audience but she has a lot of older fans. Katy doesn't always take herself seriously and likes to have a laugh with some of her songs, music videos, the like... But she has a serious side. Not to mention she can be very sexy aswell... She balances different tones very well. But going back to the kathy beth terry thing, its really a joke and she obviously knows how to cater to her audience.

Please, sis. It was for a laugh and its more of a sexy humorous thing. At least Katy knows how to dress and act her age, not to mention be sexy. Avril is still wearing the emo punk hoodies and dressin like a 14 y.o. and let's not start woth the wth vid... What she was wearing and just the whole concept. It's like "girlfriend" all over again like 7 years later tho she won't ever grasp an older audience ever. Cause shes never really changed in her music or style. sorry

And who's going to take a middle age artist serious when their music and image still revolves around their long gone youth?

The 3.5 million people who saw Madonna's last tour.

I'm sure she does have a serious side during her private time. If you wanna put the LFN/Kathy Beth Terry aside, she still made a video for CG that is a game board made of candy. Her album is called "Teenage Dream". In the public eye, she is still a 26 year old living with a 13 year old's persona. In her interviews (I'm thinking of a particular Ellen one, it was just before/after an awards show) Katy answered questions like a 12 year old. She has built up a fanbase during this era that would probably be the same age as Justin Bieber's fans, due to all this "teenage" imagery she has been using. That's not shade, I'm just saying that a 26 year old has a fanbase the same age as a 17 year old.

Maybe so, but that's what she wants to do and doesn't say anything about her being immature. Everyone else is wearing random coloured wigs, so what's the problem?

What on earth was wrong with what she was wearying? The t-shirt? Shorts? Please.
Also, GF was released in 2007. And yes, it def sounded like My Happy Ending all over again. ><
I'm fine with Katy and the others doing whatever the hell they want. But when people have double standards it's just annoying.

sorry girl, katy does not have the same stanbase as bieber. that is a fabricated delusional statement. Justin bieber is 6 - 15 year olds. Katy is more like 13 - 18, and the rest is just general public that like her songs.
