One exception to this I've noticed are forums devoted to celebrity life and gossip. There's usually seems to be a greater proportion of female posters on those, though obviously still plenty of gay men there.

I think the sports analogy kinda holds some weight. A different outlet for following and engaging in competition by proxy?

There are actually lots of men I know that stan for women yet are not gay. For one, Duca uses ATRL here and he isn't gay. Yet he stans for Britney Spears. He said himself that he simply prefers music coming from females to the music coming from males at the moment.

A friend of mine stans for Beyonce and Nicki Minaj but I can assure you he's straight. I also met someone on another site who's become a good online friend of mine, and he stans for Beyonce yet is completely straight.

I just don't see how someone can sit here and say that you must be gay because you love a female artist. Such a huge generalization.
