The average buyer, teens dont really listen to radio much. iPods and mp3 players have taken over so getting radio airplay only aids in the Hot 100 more than garnering sales. Not because a song has 100M AI doesnt necesarilly means its going to sell 100K that week. My radio is always on but I never listen to it.

She's just as popular. We ALL know the girl is a RECORDING artist and not a PERFORMING artist. Her music is just as catchy as it was when she first started out and radio will continue to eat her up.

however...her single's sales are a tad disappointing considering the promo and airplay...her sales shud look more like Katy's at least...but its hard to get a good read on what area she excels in

I woudn't say that she lost her popularity. I'd say she's a bit more popular than before, but I feel like there's more pop females on, right below or above her level right now (Ke$ha, Katy, Lady Gaga, etc.). Back during the GGGB days it seemed like she was the Only Girl (In the Pop World), thus making her seem more popular back then.
4 #1 singles in a year, S&M top 10, lots of radio airplay, lots of media coverage. How is she being less popular, she has accomplished so much at such a young age.
Um the Queen is doing just fine. She's more popular than she was during MOTS, AGLM, and RR eras.
Probably more popular than during GGGB. She was the "it" girl and broke out with Umbrella and people kept being impressed by her.
