I love Miranda and think she's deserving of her slot, but gonna use her as an example as she's nominated in the field currently with this song:
How does that pass, but Daddy Lessons doesn't? The country community judged and rejected the song based on WHO sang it as opposed to what was actually presented. Daddy Lessons has other genre influences as well, but it's definitely country and more true to the sound than a lot of what dominates country radio today and also a lot of what gets recognition from the community on the awards circuit.

This is true. Daddy Lessons is more country than most Country radio hits. I think if CMA wasn't so controversial, she would've submitted it
It wasn't even submitted. I see Billboard is working overtime to bring negativity to Beyoncé's grammy nominations. First it was the Rock article, and now this. So predictable and pathetic.
Maybe because she's not a country singer? Like you can't expect everyone to be cool with a girl putting one country-ish song on her album for the sake of Grammys. It's a slap in the face to all of the country acts that are vying for a Grammy, like yes Beyoncé made a great album but for her to get nominations in multiple fields is a little shocking to me, and sort of mind blowing that people are all up in arms about it not happening in this instance

You knew it was coming. Bet you if Adele would of did a country song it wouldn't of been a problem. Now I really hope she win AOTY just to give a big **** you to everyone. Why can't she just be happy with her nominations without spewed bs.
