I abstained because I did not feel I had the insight and conviction to make an informed decision, rather than voting based on emotion/fear or ignorance.

You all are not mad at people for exercising their rights. You're mad that these people didn't go out and vote for HILLARY.

Would you have been more upset if the majority of these non-voters decided to go out and vote for Trump?

I feel like a lot of people didn't bother to vote because social media kept pushing the 'they're both as bad as the other' view. people didn't know who to vote for, even though one was clearly more deserving than the other.

I think that that's the problem all around the world. People don't vote, they don't contribute actively to their country's future and then they are terrified about what happened but they themselves didn't do anything because they had thought that other people would do it instead of them. And next time they do nothing again.

Honestly, people should vote. It's an incredible privilege and it's kind of dumb to not exercise when it affects the entire world and only American citizens have a say in it. It doesn't matter who you voted for. VOTE. If you didn't vote or voted 3rd party then you automatically voted for the winner. Know that.

Don't even try it lol. I would've been upset, yes, but I would've known what more than half of the americans actually stand for... I'm not so sure the 53.1% who voted can represent all of America.

I'd rather people vote for Trump than not voting. Inaction and passiveness are the worst things. I remember having that fight with one of my classmates bragging about how he doesn't vote. How can you be French, love France and not help contribute to building the future of your country? Same goes for whatever country you live in? It is your duty and your right : use it!! Candidates lay out their plans, stratégies, project so you can make an informed decision, they have debates etc and in this case, both plans, attitudes were so vastly different that I don't understand the inaction.

And that's the arrogance about Hillary supporters that they don't get. These non-voters and 3rd party voters did not make their decision as a protest, most of them did it because it was the choice they felt confident in.
