Hm? So why didn't I attend all the after school drunk parties and partake in sexual activities like the rest of my school but instead have to use forums much like this one (including sites, there was no Grindr back in the early 00s.) I continued to hide my sexuality for about 6-7 yrs throughout school, only managing to 'sleep with' about two people, and it wasn't exactly like I had a huge selection to choose from because finding LGBT members was difficult, hence why I spent weekends at G-A-Y.
Fast-forward to the mid 00s and social media took off, Facebook being the main one. If young people online here right now are my age-then and are telling me they're STILL finding being gay difficult, then I wouldn't dare to challenge it. A lot of people aren't fortunate to live in cities like New York or London with a gay population and area located for us, in our own environment. We can't forget that we're discriminated against so much so that we require these places, and it is the opposite of normal. I shouldn't have to use an app to find a "guy like me", society should be more accepting. We're not the issue..
It really frustrates me that our own community continues to allow these stereotypes label us as to who we are. There's dozens in this thread now saying they're not sleeping with a guy everyday. So who is? That's right, FEW. LGBT ≠ ****/Slag
