I love how personal this song is, but I suppose it can be a bit alienating for those who are used to her sexiness and confidence. Also I don't like the drums in the song, especially the chorus. It sounds like someone is smashing cymbals together every single beat I mean, I still like the song regardless, but the production might be part of the reason why people don't like it. Britney sounds great and I love seeing this vulnerable and honest side to her
They hate it because it flopped. People are always wanting Britney to have a song that showcases her vocals and then when she does they pay it dust because it's 'boring'. There are some of us that appreciate it as the gem that it is, however. One of my favorite ballads from her, actually.
It's boring and lifeless. I was hyped as hell for BJ and I was excited to listen to Perfume since Britney's team and Sia were praising it a lot but it was a huge disappointment.
It's absolutely terrible. The lyrics are fairly standard of a post-2012 Sia (clichés, trite, uses a metaphor/analogy that thinks it's more interesting than it is) and Britney's vocal performance is not pleasant to listen to. Also, the production is awful.
That being said, there are definitely worse songs on the album.
I'm a Britney fan and Perfume was the first Britney single ever I didn't like. It's really boring, the production is not good, the lyrics are cringe worthy, the chorus is horrible, the pre chorus is a mess too, you can clearly hear Sia's vocals, there's no bridge, the video is hella boring and doesn't look like a Britney video.
