Yes they did. I grew up at a time when it was OK to discipline your child with a smack as a last resort...although the slap was a first resort for my parents (as it is in my culture). Maybe if parents still slapped their children then some of these kids wouldn't be so unruly today.
It is still abuse and you are hurting them. There are more modern ways of punishment like taking away their phone.
It's not. It worked for years and the world was a better place for it, before people became PC. Now the kids today are soft ******* because parents would rather send them to a red coloured mat on a time-out. I'm not saying full on beat them up or punch them in the face. A smack on the bum or arm for constantly disobeying an order or misbehaving however is not the end of the world.
Kids that aren't teens shouldn't have phones anyway.
Yep, all the time when I was young, and they also whooped my ass with brooms and sticks too whenever I did something wrong. It's a part of our Asian culture! That's why Asians always try to get good grades because if we get B's or C's. Guess what? Slap slap.
