Two previous Rihanna collabos have been nominated for Record of the Year: “Umbrella” (featuring Jay-Z) and Eminem’s “Love The Way You Lie,” on which she was featured. (Rihanna has a second hit in the running this year: her top five solo smash “Diamonds.” Her mega-hit “We Found Love,” featuring Calvin Harris, was eligible last year, but wasn’t nominated. It basically fell between the cracks between the two years.)

Technically there might still be hope. He never said it was actually submitted.... It was just in the eligibility period where it could have been. We never saw that in our thread about it last year (only WHYB to pop solo). If they did... why? When we Found Love couldn't make ROTY from a September release, it would be foolish to push Diamonds.

That article says Nov. 19. So if he says "Diamonds" was in contention, then that means that it was submitted for consideration. Grein gets the list every year, so there would be no reason for him to say that if it wasn't indeed submitted. Plus, someone on Goldderby who submits their work yearly confirmed that "Diamonds" was submitted for consideration.
