The country-pop sound worked for her only in the US. The only reason "Love Story" ramains her biggest only worldwide hit is because of the truly perfect international pop remix, which is even poppier than the US one.
She's trying to crossover and that's a great step forwards in my opinon.
I do see your point but her Pop versions sound exactly like the original ones IMO...the instrumentals aren't even that different
