i always read about this "she doesn't display any emotion" thing and i don't get it.
i could agree on this point if we were talking about 2003-beyoncè, but i think she's grown A LOT with this... unless you think that to show emotions you have to look like you're destroying your throat "in a soulful way" while singing.

Also, she is one of the only powerful singers that doesn't MISUSE her voice which is why she improves consistently as opposed to most of the other powerful singers.

She just can't convey as much emotion as singers like Rihanna and Katy Perry, but she does convey emotion. Now Rihanna, she sounded numb when she recorded Numb, you can tell she felt every word of Love the Way You Way Part II, and Love Without Tragedy / Mother Mary just screams emotion. With Katy Perry, you can feel her depression in songs like Thinking of You and A Cup of Coffee. Beyonce does have songs that show emotion like Start Over on 4, but her other songs that are supposed to show emotion like Halo came across as coldly manufactured. The vocals were there, but the emotion wasn't.

You mean she sounded bored...

Rihanna's voice is really bad. I mean really bad, especially for someone of her caliber. She's usually flat, no belting power, very little range, not creative vocally, etc. I know her fans cant hear it, but she is not a good singer.

You can't compare them to Beyonce, she would slaughter them on stage, vocally or otherwise.
