What is this chart?
This is a chart of the top 15 most popular songs on the Top 40 format according to RatetheMusic.com.
What is RatetheMusic.com?
It is a place where people are surveyed about songs currently being played on the radio. The survey asks three questions per song. 01) Are you familiar with this song? 02) How much do you like the song? 03) Are you tired of hearing the song on radio?
What do the numbers mean?
The first number, usually a decimal beginning with three, is an average of how people rated it. When asked to rate it, you are given the choice of "Never liked it," which gives the song a score of one, "I used to like it, but now I'm over it," which gives the song a score of two, "So-so," which gives the song a score of three, "I like it some, but it's not a favorite," which gives the song a score of four, and "It's one of my favorite right now," which gives the song a score of five. These scores are then averaged up. This gives you the first number.
The second number is a percent. It is the Familiarity Rating. This number means that out of the number of people surveyed, that percent of people said they were familiar with the song. For example, a 83 would mean 83% of people who were surveyed said they were familiar with the song.
The third number is probably one of the most important numbers and the one must talked about o Pulse. It's called the Burn Rate. This number says that out of the people who said they were familiar with the song, that percent of people said they were sick of hearing it on the radio. For example, if the song had an 83 for the Familiarity Rating, and a 12 as the Burn Rate, then that means 12% of the 83% who were familiar with the song said that they were sick of hearing it on the radio.
What are these numbers used for?
Radio stations will use them to help determine how much to increase and decrease a song's number of plays for the week.
Who is surveyed?

Can I sign up?
Yes. Anyone can sign up as long as they are over the age of 11. Just go to http://ratethemusic.com/, click on "SIGN-UP Now!," and follow the on-screen instructions. There is also a special page for Z100 and KIIS listeners.

OMG this is so perfect
But at the same time it scares me as hell
TINIE TEMPAH - Written In The Stars f/ETurner: 16.886 (+ 0.484)
JESSIE J - Price Tag f/B.O.B: 9.463 (+ 0.160)
ADELE - Rolling In The Deep: 8.667 (+ 0.173)
And if you keep the pattern going, the #16 song should include "****," and guess what... it DOES! "Raise Your Glass" by P!nk does say "****" in the song! The next song in the pattern would then be #25. As far as I know, though "Rhythm of Love" does not say "****." #36 - "On the Floor" I don't think it does. #49 - "I Need a Doctor" It does. So excluding #25 and #36, there is a pattern of where the "****" song are!
Here's this week's video.
As for tonight, "Raise Your Glass" will be going recurrent. "Bass Down Low" and "Maybe" will probably be getting purged.
Nice to see my Rate the Music Scores post from Pulse made it on here.
