Joanne is pop music but Lady Gaga never really did follow the rules of what's 'trendy' and what isn't. It's American. It's authentic. It's a statement both personally, professionally and for everyone to enjoy at a time when both sides of Atlantic are in turmoil. The far left are being slaughtered and all Gaga can see is war. She wants to unite everyone with sounds and lyrics that will transcend that message. The lyrics are as a basic as ever, allowing even the simplest minds to relate to her. What's not to love?
