This show, at least the American version, is a flop. Talent shows are no longer a major launching pad for artists anymore. These producers need to stop throwing things (or people) at the wall, hoping something sticks, and start coming up with original ideas for a show. It's sad that the "biggest flop" talent show, The Voice, is now the only relevant one.

It would be cool if they scrapped all of these talent shows and started something new. It would be cool to have an online talent competition of something. The internet has overtaken television.

Except, not even. X Factor winners do not recieve a $5 million stipend for their personal enjoyment, rather, they are given a recording contract worth $5 million. And when we consider the probable reality that Tate was locked into a multi-album contract, it seems pretty safe to bet that SYCO/RCA only invested a very small portion of that prize money into this Tate Stevens project, because, I mean, it was so obviously going to be an fruitless venture from the get-go, and I'm sure they realized that.
