I'll ask you what I asked JED -- what is the difference, son? Lady Gaga has already referenced
Warhol and 60's artists during her ARTPOP promotion. Unless Lady Gaga drastically
changes her concept, it will definitely be inspired by artists from the 60's like
Christina Aguilera's promotion for "Bionic" and "Keeps Gettin' Better
(A Decade Of Hits)" was inspired by 60's artists.
As for the visual component? Perry likens it to "going from Shirley Temple, Betty Boop to more of a Betty Paige, pop art-sarcastic-fun-Lichtenstein picture: still bright, but the colors are more saturated, and it's more metallic fuchsia or purple than bubblegum pink."
And:
It's not an overly original concept (especially lately), but that doesn't make it bad.
yes but somehow Gaga will still be praised for being innovative and her "art piece" will be excruciatingly over analyzed and lauded for being some kind of social commentary
I don't think Gaga will do an Andy Warhol type theme with her album. And even if she does, Andy Warhol has been listed as an influence for her since before X even came out with her Keeps Getting Better and Bionic eras.

And that's exactly what music, videos and art should try to accomplish. Though I suppose that only happens when you give the people something interesting to talk about.
The delusion also how are people ALREADY comparing things to an album that hasn't even got a lead single and we havnt seen any imagery so wth
Keep in mind, that this comparison isn't "out of the blue." Even Lady Gaga's
little monsters are putting forth the 60's pop art idea within their album fanart.
They are doing this because Lady Gaga keeps referencing 60's
pop art in her quotes and in her tidbits about the album.

...Vin
And she's been referencing Andy Warhol since before she was even a star, right when Just Dance was only a mild radio hit and her performances were at Aldo.
Then Christina launched her KGB era with that Genie in the Bottle performance that landed her hot water over the Gaga comparisons in the first place. Funny how she followed up with with Andy Warhol inspired images AFTER the rising newcomer Gaga was seen talking about how much of an influence he is.
No, Gaga had been inspired by Warhol since early days of her career
She speaks about Warhol here...
She made alter ego called Candy Warhol as a mix of Andy Warhol adn his muse Candy Darling...
She also said in 2009 that she sits and talks to him for hours, as if he's in the room with her. She says he tells her what to wear and controls her creativity, which is obviously not possible or true but she said this i don't know why...
Besides that Lady Gaga is not the first or last person to be inspired by pop art and Warhol...
