I think there is some misinformation in the first post...

As far as I'm concerned platinum for singles in the UK is 600,000, so Lady gaga isn't the first female to achieve platinum by selling 1 million digital downloads, she may be the first to sell 1 million digital download but she has achieved Platinum long ago...
