It's NOT a choice

I struggle with my sexuality so much, some days I want to end my life because I'm gay.
I didn't just wake up one day and want the D, I didn't want to get bullied in middle/high school, I didn't want to be rejected by my loved ones like be quiet and leave

Whether sexuality is a choice isn't what we're discussing though. Just because some of us believe we're not born with our sexual orientation doesn't mean we believe it's a choice, because I sure as hell don't.

I just don't think I sprung forth from the uterus attracted to men. I believe that the next few years that followed my birth also played a large role.

Well, I was born an identical twin raised in the same exact environment as my brother, who is straight.
And nothing traumatic ever happened to me. How would you explain that then?

Sexuality is very complex. I'm not trying to imply that some sort of "major traumatic event" causes people to be gay (or straight), just that minor differences in our environments in our formative years can have a major impact.

I'm not claiming to know what effects each individual person's sexual orientation and I'm sure it varies greatly from person to person, because, as I said, human sexuality is a very complex. I'm simply inferring from numerous studies that have indicated that whether someone is gay is not strictly determined at birth. Just because Mother Monster said so does not make it the gospel.

It doesn't have to be traumatic. Also twins don'have same exact enviroment. They have different experiences, different friends etc.

There is a predispostion to be gay. Its not a determination. That mean that genetically you might have a bigger chance to be gay but enviromental factors (or the lack of them) will say the last word. Ppl tend to forget that we should not seperate nature and nuture.

It is NOT a choice. Do you think I would choose a life of discrimination? Also, how can straight people speak in a factual manner about it being a choice? When did they choose to be straight if it is in fact a choice? I normally allow people to have an opinion on topics like these but you're an absolute FOOL if you think its a damn choice

That's interesting, because I knew I was different from other boys at the age of 5. Soon after that I had my first crush on a boy. Up until Kindergarten, my brother & I had never spent a day apart & shared the same friends. So it's interesting that these identical environmental factors seemingly influenced different sexualities between us.

But hey, I'm not going to try & convince you any differently. That said, my experience doesn't align with what you think the answer is.
