After her stunning debut Born To Die Paradise Edition , the bar was set extremely high for Lana. Fortunately with the help of Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys, she delivered yet another intriguing and flawless album. Highlights include, West Coast, Ultrviolence, Brooklyn Baby, Cruel World, Guns And Roses, Shades Of Cool etc... ◆ ◆ ◆
The first time I heard London Grammar was on Help Me Lose My Mind from Disclosure's album. It was always one of my favorite songs from that album so I made a mental note to check them out later but I never did. Fast forward to few months later, I'm watching BBC's Big Weekend Festival and BOOM this blonde girl comes in and sings like there is no tomorrow. I was slain so I decided to Shazam the song and it said Wasting My Young Years by London Grammar. I thought it was a mistake because I thought LG had a male lead.
Anyway, next thing you know, I'm on YouTube checking out more London Grammar then finally decided to buy their album and oh boy, this is one of my best music purchases in a while. The PERFECTION is too much and I hope to see them live next February. Wish me luck.
Album highlights include Wasting My Young Years, Strong, the title track If You Wait, Sights, Interlude etc... If you love Adele and Florence And The Machine, I highly recommend getting this album. ◆ ◆ ◆
Dark lyrics, throwback Blues, old school Rock And Roll, modern songwriting and powerful vocal performance are what you'll get from Hozier's amazing debut album. It's so good that it's disgusting. Ugh I hate this album for flooding my iTunes Top25. Yep, that's how many times I've played this entire album, all the songs are now in my iTunes top25. Needless to say that Hozier has been slaying me like a little bitch for the last 4 months. Work Song is simply one of the best songs I've ever heard. Take Me To Church has made me cry so many times. Jackie & Wilson has given me goosebumps so many times. In A Week has made my body convulse. In The Woods Somewhere has taken my breath away so many times. To Be Alone has made my heart stop so many times. Ugh, I need help before it's too late because this album will be the death of me.◆ ◆ ◆
WOW this is the first time a new Coldplay album isn't my favorite album of the year.
Ghost Stories heartbreak is honest and human. Critics missed the bombastic arena ready Coldplay sound but Ghost Stories was an album Chris needed to put out at this point of his life since he always writes from his heart.
I made the decision to rank the Live version of the album (available on iTunes) because Coldplay comes to life in concert. Every intricate sound is amplified, every chant resonate even louder and the chemistry between the band and the fans is so real that you can almost touch it.
Highlights include Midnight, True Love, O (Fly On), Ghost Story, A Sky Full Of Stars etc...◆ ◆ ◆
Words can't fairly describe this album which is a tour de force by one of the most talented artists of our generation. There aren't enough superlatives to express the magnitude of this masterpiece. All we have to do is to bow down.◆ ◆ ◆
