We start off this countdown with the very last single of this british boy band. Westlife was never part of my favorite artists, but I do enjoy listening to their music from time to time. I'm proud to say I listened to their whole greatest hits album and it certainly brought back a lot of memories. I guess all good things come to an end eventually.
Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull "I Like How It Feels"
The first of three guilty pleasures in this set. I really can't stand Enrique's guts these days, he tries way too hard just like Pitbull. But well, this song is really cool, I caught myself humming to the beat a few weeks back and well here it is. The video is very cheap and annoying as usual though xD.
Foo Fighters "Walk"
It's been a very long time since I enjoyed a single by Foo Fighters. Let's face it, Dave's acting skills suck. Sometimes they release decent singles but the videos always end up looking really corny. This one in particular is not that bad. I kind of relate to a couple of situations in this video and its lyrics.
Alexz Johnson "Skipping Stone"
One of the last songs that I presented in my personal countdown this year. Alexz and I go way back. I still remember when I downloaded all of her demos and kept hoping that one day she would finally release her own singles. Now it's a reality. Skipping Stone is one of her most underrated songs and its lyrics are very touching. It's definitely worth a listen.
Plain White Ts "Boomerang"
Isn't it funny how this band became one of the biggest one hit wonders of the 00s? What's even funnier is the fact that HTD doesn't really match the rest of their stuff in terms of style. Anyway, Boomerang was cool, I found out about it because of Youtube, never made it to my top 25 but it earned a spot in this countdown.
Jason Reeves feat. Colbie Caillat "No Lies"
These two definitely share something special. They're like musical twins or something. Both have very sweet voices and similar styles, both are incredibly talented and sadly they're both very underrated. No lies, you need to listen to this song.
Radiohead "Lotus Flower"
One of the strangest music videos I've ever seen. It makes me wonder if this guy actually rehearsed all those moves or basically just improvised. The song is very soothing, it might not be part of the mainstream taste but it's nice to have something different to listen to sometimes.
Martin Solveig & Dragonette "Hello"
I promise this is the last guilty pleasure for today. Normally, I despise this genre and most of its artists. All this dance fever, club bangers and random irrelevant Djs, they're just not my thing, too artificial for my taste. However, this one is so damn catchy, besides, it has been featured in way too many comercial and TV shows. You got me, I loved it!
Olly Murs "Busy"
Olly is one of those artists that like to keep it cute and simple. Some people might say his songs are generic, and probably they're right. But it's not about the songs, it's about Olly putting his personal signature in everything he does. This video is kind of freaky but very original.
Young The Giant "Cough Syrup"
I met Young The Giant when I watched their performance at the VMAs. At first I thought they were just another band out there, but their single grew on me a lot. Cough Syrup is not as good as My Body but it still has its charm. Let's see what they bring to us later on.
Thank U 4 The Comments, I'll try to comment on every one of yours. If I forget just wall me
me encantó ver a Radiohead, Plain White T's, Foo Fighters & Martin Solveig
De las series sólo he oído mentar The Walking Dead, y además he visto avances y se ve muy buena, lástima que no me gusta ver mucho series, no soy capaz de verlas completas!!
I haven't watched any episodes of the Walking Dead this season (although they are all on the DVR). As far as singles so, 6/10 with big love for Young the Giant and Foo Fighters, would have loved to seen both higher.
