Yassss Katy. Y'all all doing too much. Katy's mic seemed to be too low initially. But, overall the performance was a success. Vocally and aesthetically.
I enjoyed this a lot, her vocals weren't horrible and the production was amazing.
HOWEVER, let me call it out early that this performance is going to get flack from the cultural appropriation police. They've been in full force lately
As long as she sings like this I don't think she'll ever be a touring force. Who pays $100 to hear that? I guess I have to complement here for always singing live though.
There were just a few moments where her vocals sounded okay, but she was mostly terrible. She probably could've nailed it standing in one place doing an acoustic performance but she clearly can't hear herself sing when there's a lot of noise going on in her performances.
On a positive note, that was the most visually and aesthetically appealing performance she's ever had, mostly for what was going on around her though. It must have cost a fortune.
