Well, going back to the whole "it'll be a big deal for hip-hop"...who are we to know? Just because she's had one snarky review from someone who actually likes the hip-hop section somewhat, does this mean it can no longer be a big deal? Now I don't claim to be an expert on hip-hop, but I really don't feel critical acclaim necessarily has to be a product for cultural impact. Teenage Dream has been critically ripped to shreds, yet no one can deny that it's been a big deal in the pop game. People wrote Kelly Rowland off, then she brought Motivation, which was a big thing in the urban game. PF:RR might yet be a big deal for hip-hop. I'm not US-based so I don't really know, but isn't urban radio taking to Beez In The Trap?
Plus, you're always going to talk big of your album to hype it up before it's released. What are you meant to say? "My album's ****, it won't change anything. Don't buy it"?
