Srsly ask like most people in the country I live in and they've known about Leona for what two years now, know more than one of her singles I think that shows she is an established artist enough
|
You're talking about the UK, First Single: was the XFactor single; so obviously it was going to do well (They all do!), Second: was Bleeding Love which was a hit everywhere, Third: Better In Time/(Charity Single; a.k.a sales gainer) We don't know for sure if sales for ''Better In Time'' would of been so high if it had not been part of Sport Relief.
Yes I live in the UK .. So I know there is a buzz around Leona here! But of course there will be, she's from England! People in the UK might remember her for more than ''Bleeding Love'', but i'm just not sure it will be a similar story elsewhere.

It doesn't matter about the similar story elsewhere, because really I'm not elsewhere, so I don't care about elsewhere and 'Better In Time' if you think about it actually shows that she has an established fanbase, because her album has already sold two million alone in the UK, srsly nearly anybody who buys records, already has the album thats why she isn't releasing another song of the original version because she has sold too much. As well I think the sucess of BIT around the world speaks for itself aswell after having a monster single, top ten in 14 countries and it's still peaking, so that kinda screws over the Sports Relief theory, because it isn't for Sports Relief in all those countries

OMG. I kinda agree that underdogs ave better albums than the established ones. The Veronicas, Jesse McCartney and Vanessa Hudgens all have great albums, and I can say their albums are better than Madonna's, Leona's or Usher's. But not on Mariah's. E=MC˛ is the best album of the year so far.
Lil Mama's album is just OK. At least she has very good songs.
Raven's.. no comment.

Usually the unnoticed albums are the best ones.
Khia's album is gonna flop hard, but it is one of the best albums of the year, infact the decade
The Veronicas' album too is awesomeness.
While the bigger artists like Usher, Mariah Carey and Leona Lewis release borefest albums. Usher's and Mariah's previous albums are much much better.

What do you mean? Vanessa's album is single, then filler, filler, filler, single. There 3-4 good songs and that's it. It's bland. Jesse, Raven, and The Veronica's pawn both Vanessa's albums. At least that is my opinion.

Weezer's Red Album & Melanie C's This Time are way better.
But the comparison is unbelieveable... I blame it
Madonna/Mariah Carey/Usher offer the same every album,
And Raven has her show or whatever she had and she doesn't need music
About Ashlee it's only popular because being Jessica Simpson's sister + SNL incident + Pieces of Me... and her lastest album it's just bad... and yes I listened

Leona may be established enough at the moment, but that is because she is riding on the success of ''Bleeding Love'', that song has made her career, but it could also break it.
Just look at James blunt, his first album sold 2,200,000+ in the US alone (Because of; ''You're Beautiful''), & his new album has sold 2 million copies less .
I doubt Leona's success will fade away, but just wanted to highlight that having success with your first single + album; does not make you 100% established as an artist.
|
Leona fans are so drugged up on weed and chronic that they think Leona has a free pass to being forever a hit act just cause she had a #1 single around the world.
I mean her voice will take her far enough, but what will she bring next time? It'll be another attempt at "Bleeding Love" on her 2nd disc, it'll FAIL of course, and she'll be over. She's boring as well.

You don't care about elsewhere, but you continue to note how she had a monster single in many countries?

The only difference between this and the music that is topping the charts is that the later did not fail to succeed. Both of them are equally generic.
