All the actual answers in here reminding me of why I love Taylor. She's so influential, and she has a lot more impact than her detractors try to give her credit for.
And yes, Taylor did bring confessional songwriting back to the forefront. Which is why Speak Now, which does it the best, is a freaking masterpiece. You literally feel her story as if you're there with her and that feeling has inspired/influenced many young pop artists listed above.
Plus she made entirely self-written songs cool again.
Also, because of Taylor's confessional songwriting, albums based on heartbreak/life experiences could smash.
Ed Sheeran's albums, Sam Smith, and to a lesser extent, 21. (Obviously I'm not crediting Taylor for Adeles gargantuan sales, but 19 didn't see half the success of 21. But after Taylor made her initial impact with fearless, Adeles follow up album, with confessional heartbreak tales, smashed on an unprecedented level.)

No offense but I had to Google who that was. Taylor really did make country global and pioneer country pop. Red was risky because of that, and everyone said she would lose fans by straying from a traditional country sound into something newer.

Taylor is also the singer that causes the strongest opinion of her in both spectrum. There's a lot of people who LOVES and literally WORSHIPS her music (look at her sales) and there's her large band of haters who's always had something bad to associate her too (sueing people, break up song, etc.). The truth is she'll probably be the most remembered pop girl cause of the extreme opinions people have on her, regardless of negative or positive.

Taylor is the undisputed country-pop ambassador for the 00s/10s on a global level. She picked up where Shania left off. She opened doors for songwriters who wrote based on their own life experiences.

Laughing doesn't change what I said. Prior to Taylor's fearless album, the albums that sold the most on a global scale were usually pop albums with a plethora of song writers. Taylor opened the doors for confessional songwriting to smash.
