Pedro's Best Of 2011 [Top 15 Choreographies (15-06)]
Welcome to my Best Of 2011!
Hello! I know I'm a little late. Unfourtunately, when the "Best Of" time came on, I was very busy with my final exams and tests and I did not have time to finish it, actually I barely started it. Since I'm on my holidays and I have a lot of free time, I decided to do it now (with permition) and Vato (ATRL Moderator) will transfer the thread to the Best Of area once it opens again!
Doing this type of lists take time and a lot of work and dedication, I tried to be as fair as possible with myself.
Today I will be presenting to you my...
The first Best Choreographies! Here We Go!
Let's move on to dance!
Choreography is so important to me. You know, when you're seeing a video on TV with choreography and you think: "I so want to learn those moves!"? That happened to me a lot of times this year, and some of the videos are going to be charting.
Nevertheless, I must say I am extremely disappointed with some choreographies this year, some artists could have done SO MUCH better, but I'm proud of some, really proud!
20. Lady GaGa - You and I
Could've been so much better! I find it very slow and I detect lack of energy and fierceness like she usually has. I was disappointed, this was Top 15 before I re-saw the video. This is just her first appeareance, our of four!
19. Kelly Clarkson - What Doesn't Kill You (Stronger)
Okay! Everyone is forbidden of mocking me! I know Kelly is not that much of a dancer but I almost cried when I saw her dancing with so much energy like she did here, it's just too cute, I always loved her and I seriously appreciated her effort! Great job!
18. Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
Oh Nicki! This is the best you can do? Of course not, but I appreciate the effort as well, like the hand/arm movement in the chorus and the choreography during the bridge. Decent job.
17. Panic! At The Disco - Ready To Go (Get Me Out Of My Mind)
Never thought I'd be puting Panic! in my choreography list, ever! But I really found interesting watching Urie doing some moves and making the effort and looking like he was a pro! Seriously, great job! I was impressed at those legs moves!
16. Lady GaGa - Born This Way
Again, Gaga disappoints when it comes to choreography, before I re-saw it too, it was top 15, but I find the choreography so lazy, boring and lame! She is doing moves that make her look bad, don't know why, I kinda like the choreography, I just wished she would've done different things! It's an okay choreography!
Bruno Mars - The Lazy Song
I was very impressed at this video, Bruno looked hot and pretty, something I never really seen in him and besides that he is dancing! Eventhough it's a silly choreography, it's cute and hard to execute when you are doing a video without pauses! I really enjoyed some moves and I loved the inclusion of the "monkeys" dancing with him, we need, also, to have in mind that choreography is not only dancing, it's about positions and stuff and in this video it must've not been that easy with the chair walking, throwing guitars and stuff.
Fave Move: The part where Mars and the dancers drop their jeans and go "up and down".
Shakira (feat. Pitbull) - Rabiosa
Of course I had to include my Queen in this chart. I know Rabiosa's choreography is not as professional, if we can go by that, as the others, it is in a pole dancing, but we all know how hard is to dance in a pole, and Shakira nailed it while looking so sexy! This is perhaps her sexiest video! Is there anything this woman can't do? Ouch!
Fave Move: When Shakira starts rolling her head while going in circles in the pole.
Kelly Rowland (feat. Lil' Wayne) - Motivation
Miss Rowland can thank her amazing dancers who are incredible in the video, because if it was based on her this would not chart. Her moves are very tacky, very slow and very easy to do. Her dancers, in the other hand, slay it with a slow but not easy to do choreography. I do enjoy her sexiness while dancing! I'm going to say decent job!
Fave Move: When Kelly walks from the left to the right while the dancers follow her dancing.
LMFAO - Party Rock Anthem
Those legs movements are definitely not easy to do, but I love the way they work it out! This was supposed to be out of the Top 15 but then I re-saw the video and I realized how difficult it must be to do those legs movements! Real good!
Fave Move: Well, the breakdown with the feet/leg dance.
Beyoncé - Countdown
She did a good job here, could've done better but I liked it! Beyoncé is a nice dancer and I really like her naturality while dancing. This video's choreography is not just about dancing either, it must've take a while to be a wrap!
Fave Move: The part where the camera goes up in Beyoncé's face and she is snapping her fingers and then opening her hand and moving her fingers.
Nicole Scherzinger (feat. 50 Cent) - Right There
Knowing Nicole's work as I do, this comes as disappointing but everytime she dances, she slays and this was no exception, her body is just flawless and her fierceness and naturality kind of slays anyone. She does it so graciously and eventhough it's a soft choreography, it's a cute one! This is not her final appeareance.
Fave Move: When Nicole and the dancers put her arms in their front and start going down.
Beyoncé - Love On Top
Again we find Beyoncé, this time in the Top 10. I really love this choreography but she repeats it in the entire video and it's not that difficult to do, it's actually pretty easy, what I love is her happiness while doing it and makes me love it a lot!
Fave Move: "And finally you put me first!" legs/jumps movement.
Beyoncé - Dance For You
Oh well! Beyoncé remains with us! This is the hardest and the most exigent choreography because she had to do the biggest part in a raw, while being extra sexy and while touching a guy and going up in a table and stuff, so yes, this is her best one, so far. Let me mention the "I'm a Slave 4 U" movement and the one with the hips, I am trying to do it like her, but I can't she rolls 'em in a very sexy and soft way, I'm used to Shakira's fast moves, I guess!
Fave Move: I have two! The one with the hips and the one when she is in the table and goes like crazy with her breast up and down severall times.
Lady Gaga - Judas
Now we are in a field where I completely adore the biggest part of the choreographies, this one is one of them! Gaga surprised me so much, this choreography is so cool and so hard to actually learn and that's what makes a good choreography. She proved herself as a dancer with this music video!
Fave Move: "Ooooh Oooh I'm In love with Judas Juda-a-as".
Britney Spears - Till The World Ends
Oh yeah, you're seeing Miss Spears missing the Top 5. I completely adore "Till The World Ends" choreography, I know every single part of it but I find the other five more exigent and actually better choreographies, although this one makes me real proud of Britney, and kinda shuts the haters mouth when saying she can't dance anymore. She might not be the dancer she used to be but the way she dances is incomparable! Amazing job!
Fave Move: The bridge when she goes right, left with her hands and arms up.

Beyoncé had amazing choreographies this era.
TTWE is also very good
I have to say that Party Rock Anthem had one of the best choreographies of the year. I still hate the song though

Pedro's Best Of 2011 [Top 15 Choreographies (Top 5)]

Oh yeah, you're seeing Miss Spears missing the Top 5. She might not be the dancer she used to be but the way she dances is incomparable! Amazing job!
Fave Move: The bridge when she goes right, left with her hands and arms up.
Nicole Scherzinger - Wet
Now, yes! Miss Scherzinger delivering a great choreography! I love the energy, the speed and the fierceness. This is the Nicole we know, I know, as well, that this is most likely to have a more exigent choreography than Right There due to the different styles. I really love how amazing dancer she is! Great job!
Fave Move: When Nicole and the girls are up against the wall opening and closing their legs.
Lady Gaga - Marry The Night
Here's Gaga's last appeareance in this chart. She gave all she could in this video, I feel it. The fierceness, the energy, everything about this choreography is epic and not easy at all to learn, seriously! She does great, great moves, best dance I've EVER seen from her. Congratulations Gaga!
Fave Move: "Ma-ma-ma-marry the night", with one arm up, the other close to the up arm and jumping with the legs right and left.
Jennifer Lopez - Papi
And we reach the Top 3! J.Lo opens it, while I was preparing this I realized I forgot "I'm Into You" actually had a choreography but it's a Papi choreography as well so I decided to let it go. Jennifer SLAYS ME here. The energy, the effortness, the fierceness... goodness! She did great and proved she is a hell of a dancer. Seriously how much I missed seeing JLo dancing like this!
Fave Move: When she is about to start the breakdown and goes with her hands from her feet to the body and then does some sexy stuff.
Britney Spears - Hold It Against Me
I made the biggest effort not to put Spears at #1. Hold It Against Me has one of the best choreographies of all time, it's so epic and amazing and the way Britney dances is just... beautiful! I know every single part of this choreography, as I said it's epic but there's one other video that slayed. The final dance in this one slays everything you can imagine! I'd say this, Circus are her best choreographies post-breakdown.
Fave Move: The final choreography.
Beyoncé - Run The World (Girls)
Ok... I had no choice. Beyoncé slayed the entire world with this epic choreography. The beginning with the feet and stuff, the going up and down, the kicks on the dust, the epic part of her on the floor with her feet up, the epic breast movement, the crystal ball movement, the "Who are we? What do we run?" arm up part, goodness. What's not epic about it? The yellow dress part is the best by far, but wow!
Fave Move: The one when Beyoncé is on the floor with her legs and feet up.

Run The World is BY FAR the best choreography last year. But it's not that stellar. I say that dance videos made a comeback last year with Beyonce and Britney but its nowhere as hot and fierce as the choreos before. But great videos. I agree with all of them.

Pedro's Best Of 2011 [Top 50 Videos (50-36)]
Welcome to my Best Of 2011!
Hello! I know I'm a little late. Unfourtunately, when the "Best Of" time came on, I was very busy with my final exams and tests and I did not have time to finish it, actually I barely started it. Since I'm on my holidays and I have a lot of free time, I decided to do it now (with permition) and Vato (ATRL Moderator) will transfer the thread to the Best Of area once it opens again!
Doing this type of lists take time and a lot of work and dedication, I tried to be as fair as possible with myself.
Today I will be presenting to you my...
Best 50 Music Videos! Here We Go!
Let's move on to music videos!
There were so many amazing videos this year, it was a mess to do this list, because I was so confused mixing my personal taste and the technical aspects to make this list fair and not only about my personal taste, do I make any sense? I felt like if I just went by my taste this list wouldn't be any good because there are some artists I love but don't have that amazing videos and that would be unfair to others I might not like as much but had better videos. So here they are... my 50 favorite videos of 2011!
|
55. Avril Lavigne - What The Hell
I feel like she could've done a better job here, not that the video is bad, it's actually nice but she has done this so many times already, get over with following/getting away from a guy, that pretty much sums up your videography, Avril...
(First and Only appearance from Avril Lavigne) |
|
54. Nicole Scherzinger - Don't Hold Your Breath
I quite enjoy this video's simplicity and everything but yeah it's just too basic, eventhough her look and sexiness slays me, but that's pretty much it.
(First out of Four appearances from Nicole Scherzinger) |
|
53. Lady Gaga - Born This Way
This video was so weird and sometimes bad in so many ways... The video is quite interesting with the real introduction but it's pretty confusing sometimes and that is NOT cool when you try to understand a video. The make up, the things on her face make it so weird and I already talked about its choreography that doesn't exactly help it. Well she has more videos to come. I was a bit disappointed.
(First out of Four appearances from Lady Gaga) |
|
52. Selena Gomez & The Scene - Who Says
The thing I said about Don't Hold Your Breath applies to this video too. It's way too basic, she looks great and the concept is nice but too normal with nothing happening. I prefer this to Nicole's due to the concept itself that doesn't really exist in Nicole's video.
(First out of Three appearances from Selena Gomez & The Scene) |
|
51. Leona Lewis feat. Avicii - Collide
Again we are talking about very basic videos and concepts but the images that this video shows are so fresh, so beautiful and so nice that its art make me love it, and I seriously love this video but as I said I have to take in count some other aspects and I couldn't put it inside the Top 50.
(First and Only appearance from Leona Lewis and Avicii) |
I completely adore the bubble effect on people, it's quite funny and when it hits Nicki... girl... those faces used to make my day! I find it somewhat original that bubble thing, nevertheless the video is nothing amazing and that's why it doesn't chart higher.
(First and Only appearance from David Guetta and Flo Rida. First out of Three appearance from Nicki Minaj)
This is also quite basic but I really like the sexual vibe that comes with it. Kelly looks super hot and the darkness that it brings it's quite refreshing, principally if you're feeling hot!
(First and Only appearance from Kelly Rowland. First out of Two appearances from Lil' Wayne)
I like this video, I think it has some great looks and outfits from Nicole and some nice special effects, for example when the road starts "working". My favorite part is when she is doing the choreography with the girls with that beige outfit.
(Second out of Four appearances from Nicole Scherzinger. First and Only appearance from 50 Cent)
Twice in a raw! This one needs to go into the same category as "Collide". I was shocked to see it was shoot in Mexico didn't know it was so beautiful! Nicole looks gorgeous and those landscapes are completely beautiful and make me wanna be there. I know it hasn't any concept but it's so flawless...
(Third out of Four appearances from Nicole Scherzinger)
And here we find the first Rihanna appearance. I love this video mostly because of the place where it was shot and due to her beauty, I don't think I ever saw Rihanna looking this good. Besides the feeling that it gives to be is something alike honesty and that is important. I guess it's safe to say we went from Ok videos to Good videos now.
(First out of Five appearances from Rihanna)
Kelly Clarkson... what a brilliant artist but her videography could be better. I actually adore this video, I love the message and the choreography itself, besides, I already said this but damn Imma repeat it over and over, seeing her do some dance moves made me so proud! I really love how fierce she looks in!
(First out of Two appearances from Kelly Clarkson)
Jessie J is such an original artist. I love most of her videos due to that, they have great and very original looks, that's super nice! I read this video wasn't supposed to be like this but it was shot when she broke her leg and the dance scenes... nevermind them. Nevertheless I find it great! Love, as I said, the visual stuff!
(First out of Three appearances from Jessie J)
Again we find Kelly! I love this video, she looks gorgeous and very confident! Is this video supposed to go up against the media criticism due to the things that appear in the wall? If so... well I don't think she is that hated by the media, they're just mean when it comes to her weight, and everybody stopped caring, to be honest. Nevertheless I love the simplicity and collors of this video, very happy and cool! Love the ending when she "leaves". Good job, deary! Unfourtunately this is it for Kelly... hopefully she'll have better videos in 2012!
(Two out of Two appearances from Kelly Clarkson)
I actually enjoy this video, it's something different and fun! It reminds me of Irreplaceable in some parts. Beyoncé looks gorgeous and I like the funny parts in it, like when she is dancing with the guy she likes but he is like "gurl bye" and turns around! I also love the mini dance she puts in at the end! I think she did a good job here, nevertheless far away from being her best video! I love the sets too! Anyway, Beyoncé is the artist with most entries!
(One out of Six appearances from Beyoncé)
Now it's time for Miss Lopez. I love this video and once again, mostly because of the set! The egyptian feeling it gives to me is just too epic and the set where she is slaying some choreography . I don't need to say she looks completely gorgeous, do I? I really love this summerish video!
(One out of Three appearances from Jennifer Lopez. Two out of Two appearances from Lil' Wayne)
Again Jessie J slaying me with her originality and great acting! I love this video, it's funny how she is so many characters and she made this video all in school, a place where basically any kid can be bullied, I really love the "revenge" vibe of this video. Amazing job! The girl looks like her, actually!
(Two out of Three appearances from Jessie J)
Well I was actually going to appear in this video but Adam said: "I'm not ready, sorry " I was like "Ok, I'm letting that ***** shoot the video from me, but don't even touch her that much", and that was it... Besides all that mess, I love the idea of the video and how faithful it is with the title of the song! They do never leave that bed! I found it very original!
(First and Only appearance from Maroon 5)
I like the "dark" vibe of this video and visually it's pretty good, love Nicki Minaj's leopard hair, so cool! Both of them are pretty fierce in the video. The reason it is this "high" is due to the final fight, which I really like! I hate her pink hair, though, she looks sick.
(Two out of Two appearances from Nicki Minaj. Two out of Five appearances from Rihanna)
I love this video due to the relaxing vibe of it and due to the effort made. It is one-scene shot and that is NOT easy to do! Principally when you have to throw guitars up in the air and stuff, he really surprised me, this is his best video! The monkeys kind of became iconic.
(One and Only appearance from Bruno Mars)
Another amazing video from Beyoncé. This is basic as hell, but its effects, the make up, the glitter in her skin, everything about it is so epic! I really enjoyed this video, eventhough it's so basic and its effects are nothing amazing, damn, she really looks great and it gives us the feeling that the song is trying to give. Amazing, amazing job!
(Two out of Six appearances from Beyoncé)
