Atlantic recording artist Melanie Martinez has announced details of her upcoming fall tour. “The Cry Baby Tour” gets underway August 26th at Charlotte, NC’s Amo’s Southend and then travels the US through mid-October (see attached itinerary). The upcoming live schedule celebrates the release of Martinez’s anticipated debut album. “CRY BABY” – which follows the acclaimed singer/songwriter’s 2014 breakthrough, “THE DOLLHOUSE EP” – arrives everywhere on August 14th.
“CRY BABY” has already been preceded by the album’s first single, “Pity Party.” The track has received immediate praise, with Idolator hailing it as “genuinely quirky, undeniably catchy” with a “gloriously demented chorus.” In addition, the “Pity Party” companion video – directed by Martinez herself – has drawn nearly 2 million views and counting at her official YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/Melmartinezx3.
“SOAP” – another “CRY BABY” highlight – will be available on July 10th. “CRY BABY” pre-orders will get underway with “Carousel,” “Pity Party,” “Dollhouse,” and “Soap” all available as instant grat downloads on July 24th. “SIPPY CUP,” the fourth instant grat track will follow on July 31st.
Released in May 2014, “THE DOLLHOUSE EP” is highlighted by the hit singles, “Carousel” and “Dollhouse.” The compelling “Dollhouse” companion video – conceived, co-directed, and co-produced by Martinez – has proven an online phenomenon, with individual views now exceeding 19 million atwww.youtube.com/watch?v=HcVv9R1ZR84. “Carousel,” matched the success of its predecessor, reaching the top 10 on the iTunes Stores “Top Alternative Songs” chart after soundtracking the first extended trailer for FX Networks’ hugely popular American Horror Story: Freak Show.
