you sign a contract before beginning full time employment even for the most basic positions where it outlines that you can't talk **** about the company/give away secrets/etc., her co-workers would have to do it too. Non Disclosure Agreements are also common. Aside from that, he can be sued for defamation, etc. if he said something by mistake that plagues her brand.
If he ever wants to continue working with her again, you can bet that Gaga will personally have to approve of the topic of conversation. Especially if they were friends - it's not really cute if some random friend of yours starts using your name for attention. He obviously had to say "Gaga, do you mind if I go clear up some ******** they've been saying about you? I'm sick of it". I think a lot of people forget Gaga is a highly profitable corporation. A misstep doesn't only affect her, it affects the people that work for her.
She probably wants things cleared up but maybe regrets giving him attention, so she's doesn't mind him doing this. But don't think for a second that Gaga is completely oblivious to the matter.
