IDK why people are still trying this delusion as we're going into 2017. DC had gotten multiple #1s and were nearing 7x plat when Aaliyah passed; that's more than three times bigger than any Aaliyah album. Aaliyah was dope, but she was never at any point the #1 solo R&B girl; that was Brandy and then for a short time, Ashanti -- if their being around and active didn't interfere with Bey blowing up, what kind of logic is it to think that Aaliyah would have? People just want for this fantasy of Bey never happening had Aaliyah lived to have actually been the case, but it's just not realistic.
NOT people getting botherd and heated over Ashanti of all people. NO, there wasn't beef between the two artist personally. But stans have always continued this narrative that Beyoncé going solo ended Ashanti career. So of course she's going to address that rumor.
