I said it once and I'll say it again, an album with 10 tracks guarantees less filler which then translates into a hot album. DIL had 15 tracks and 6-7 of them were filler. Trust me, this is a good move. Some of the most praised pop albums of the last 25 years like MJ's Thriller & Off The Wall, Prince's Purple Rain & 1999, Mariah's first four studio albums, etc. all had about 10 tracks or less.
Anyway, her expectations for this album seem to be quite high. Lets see if it lives up to the hype.

Tracklisting doesn't really matter. All that matters is what you hear. Stripped had a tracklisting of 19 and was a great album. C Milian never has that much songs on her albums and all her songs STINK!! Gwen S. had 12 songs and most of it sounded the same-annoying.

Oh please, shut the hell up. You've missed my point. Releasing an album with 10 tracks is a safe bet and guarantees a good album most of time. I highly doubt Beyonce would release a fillerful album with only 10 tracks, it just doesn't make sense. Yes, Aguilera released an excellent album that includes almost 20 songs, but it's also a very risky move. After all, she was torn apart by the critics when the album was first released.
Oh and wtf? Gwen's "L.A.M.B." was a solid album with not one bad track.

I'm just going by the evidence that I've already been given. There are no guarantees of anything. You can't always go by statistics. For example, the myth that no artist has hits after their Greatest Hits album. Look at Mariah Carey. Prince has hits as well but they aren't consitent. My point is that it all depends. I mean reflect on what ur saying, "B'Day has 10 songs so it must be good". That's just as dumb as me saying B2B has 23 songs so it must be good. I'm not basing how good her album is going to be based on tracklisting and Beyonce fans shouldn't base B'Day on its tracklisting either. She'll probably have more songs on that Dreamgirls soundtrack anyway. If I said that B'Day is going to suck it wouldn't be because it only has 10 songs. I don't care about how many songs she comes up w/. DIL wouldn't have made more of a difference to me if she put more of the B-sides on the album. & her fans shouldn't be any more/less worried because it only has 10 songs. & so far, we only have one song to go by and her music video. & regarding Gwen, I'm one of those people that thinks that she was way better when she was in No Doubt. I didn't like her image change. A lot of her No Doubt fans dropped off when she went solo.

Yeah, that makes sense. But what if half of these 10 tracks are fillers? We never know, that's why I think it's better to have more tracks. The ideal number in my opinion is 14 tracks.

I was pretty upset when I heard about the number of tracks on her album. IDK, this album is starting to sound pretty rushed to me. We'll see though, if the 10 tracks on the album are good, then I won't be too dissappointed

Wut can you expect, the album seemed very rushed, only having 6 months to work on it? Obviously she knows she can get away with it, as anything with the name "Beyonce" can sell. If this album is anything like "Dangerously In Love," then expect 4 good tracks, and 6 fillers.

Xtina isn't with ASCAP, so this supposed rule doesn't apply to her

Wait, wait, WAIT...if I'm reading that right, is anybody but me noticing that she has a song on her album called "Freak 'Em Dress"? Whatever the f*** that's about, that just doesn't sound good at all.

Everyone is right about this cd. I prefer a good cd over a cd with more tracks but fillers. All I care about is a cd that is well worth the money. So I hope the cd is not very short. I hate short cds. I'm hoping it's at least 40 minutes. If it's less, I hope the price of the cd is less. There probably will be less fillers on this cd, but remember, Deju Vu and Check on it is two of the 10. So there's 8 we haven't heard...hmmm.
