I know this is kind of cheating but I only properly got into this masterpiece in 2016. What I love so much about the eras is how they stand together as a cohesive body of work in sound, theme, imagery, lyrics etc. which is rare in kpop. I wasn't surprised that WINGS disappointed me, because this was too good to top. BTS are REAL ARTISTS and deserve the crazy success they've had the past year
Young Forever is a great album and I was disappointed with WINGS as well after so many great tunes we got from them
Navillera is probably the song that got me interested in GFriend, I used to think they were nothing more than a basic cutesy group but I'm glad they proved me wrong.
I've loved every SISTAR comeback since So Cool but they managed to make their best one yet this year
The song itself is a crazy fun bop from start to finish: the sax riff all through the verses and chorus, Hyorin and Soyu slaying in the pre-chorus, the tempo change, the Let's Dance! and I'm so fine parts
Song aside, everything else was TOP TIER: the choreo, the MV, the live performances, the outfits etc. they really stepped up their game, best comeback of 2016
I don't get that album, it had like 3000 re-issues but I like Wings more

I'm not a BTS fan but I enjoyed that album anyway. It has my favourite songs of theirs for sure (Run/I Need U/Save ME). It's their best album so far.
The instrumental is so godly, I need it
Thank you guys for your comments!
I definitely only used a few songs from WINGS too, maybe it was all the solos filling the album. HYYH's gonna be hard to top.
I ignored I.O.I for most of this year, I didn't watch P101 or like their other singles. But then people were comparing this song to Gee, one of my favourite kpop songs ever, so I had to check it out. One listen was all it took and I haven't been able to stop playing it since. I might even say that JYP improved the original: I love the bouncy production, high-energy verses, crazy catchy chorus and outro
Whenever I showed my non-kpop friends this song I was obssessed with, they would (predictably) call it gross or annoying. But this song is exactly what I love so much about kpop: it's girly, simple, high-energy, well-produced, repetitive, catchy as **** and the most fun song to sing along to this year
I know LITERALLY no one liked this, but I wish people'd give it a second chance 😢
It sounds so soothing and autumn-y, I love the opening synths, the verses and the members' voices on the song. I don't know why it clicked with me so well to the point where I couldn't stop replaying it when A Pink was one of the only groups I didn't use up til Remember.
KPOP ALBUMS
#3 A Pink - Pink Revolution
I'll admit this isn't full of 10/10 tracks like my other favourite albums this year, but this is here because all the songs have a cohesive sound that made the album my autumn soundtrack. A year ago, I would've never believed A Pink would be my GG AOTY or that I would love their 'boring' ballads. So never say never
