The long awaited collaboration release between these Scandinavian superpowers is here! It's definitely different than I was expecting, and on only two songs does Robyn do the whole Pop Diva thing, but it works surprisingly well on the others. I like the crunchiness of Sayit and the show-stopping hook of the title track the most, but there are great moments in the 9 minute opener Monument too.
Ooh the great musical trend of the decade, indie-pop with R&B-lite vocals and melodies! It's really good though. Sort of Jai Paul-esque, but a little more hooky. The songs are full of those edgier synth touches but it's overall a very relaxing listen.
There's some vague pseudo-concept about this EP (and the following EPs that are to be released too I think?) but I honestly don't care. This is 80s aping synth masturbation, and I love it! I guess you could call it "Chillwave" but you could also... not?
