She overhyped it. When you call your album THE BIGGEST ALBUM OF THE DECADE before it even comes out, you're just asking for people to be underwhelmed with the final product. I love Gaga, and I do think that BTW was, and is, a great album...but the way she talked it up she had people expecting perfection, and suddenly a "great album" wasn't going to be good enough. It was her own doing, IMO.
too much hype
claiming it will be the album of our generation.....pfft. yeah right.
poor single choices.
music videos
and basically the album just gets old quickly.
You know this was written by a Gaga fan from GGD who has an Examiner account, right? Mike something. He DM'd me this article last month to tell me I was right
Oh and this topic has been discussed and exhausted AD NAUSEUM. What else is there to say that hasn't already been said a hundred times?
I was hoping to get general ATRL opinions now that the album is 100 percent dead and done.
But I guess since someone reported that it's not going to happen.
The hype was part of the epic promotion that led the album to being one of the biggest selling albums of the year
Dude the album sold 10M copies less than her previous album, it sold +5M copies according to Mediatraffic chart ..... Trust me she is not on a good situation right now.

watch someone make one about 4 but i like it i thought it was good not better then TFM though
Well with 4 it was pretty straightforward, the album just wasn't friendly to pop radio at all. It sold on her R&B base, and did pretty well all things considered.

When you're releasing your 4th single only 2-3 months after your album has been released, there's a problem.
she wanted to release 8-10 singles, and Judas would have lasted longer if it hadn't flop. But I agree, You and I was still charting when she released MTN
