So Crossroads opened to about 700 less theaters and earned back it's Production Budget opening week. It even pulled in a higher average $$$ per theater than Burlesque, MUCH higher. From the numbers above it looks like it was profitable before the WW markets even touched it. Which is the Production Budgetx2. Crossroads was at 3x it's Budget domestically before the WW markets come in. Crossroads then made nearly 2x its Budget WW.
So, for Burlesque to match that it'd have to exceed it's Production Budget by 5x. The first one breaks the even line, then the next 4 would equal to Crossroad's domestic then WW tallies. At a $55 million Budget to equal Crossroads' success it would need $275 million.
I didn't factor in promotional costs in any of these figures, but since Crossroads made 4x it's base Budget I'm sure it turned a profit and a good one. Burlesque, with those numbers unknown, I'm sure if it pulled in an addition 4x it's Budget that would also be accounted for and in the profit margin too.
To BE profitable it probably doesn't need near $275 million, BUT to be more successful than Crossroads it would need $275 million. Will it do that?
