She's faded in terms of single success and inability to escape her in the media, but she's still doing well in terms of albums, critical acclaim, and her current tour might end up making more money than The Monster Ball.
But, Marry The Night is Gaga's only flop single. Your fave has had many flop singles, but that doesn't mean the Britney is any less of an icon that she is. People didn't buy BTW as much because it's not the Gaga they know and love, if she comes back on her next album with fun smashes, she'll once again be the WW singles queen, no doubt. Lets not forget about Rihanna's flopping singles too, the RR era , and then she came back and SMASHED with Loud and her singles.
Rihanna was forced by her label to record and come back with the most generic album ever to recover from a lackluster era, something Interscope can't force Gaga to. BTW era is much more successful then RR, but the sequel might be different. We'll see.
Guys, PLEASE stop saying BTW sold 8 million WW, it's embarrassing.
And of course certain people will say she's fading, that's the nature of stanwars. She's obviously not as big as she was before, but I would still say she's the biggest global force in contemporary pop music as ATRL defines it.
2 flop singles?
wasn't MTN the only single that didn't hit top 10?
