Oh. Seems like excuses! I was just correlating it's low audience count for such high spins and the fact its so low on iTunes is one of the few times people can validly complain about radio playing certain songs over others. Sure, it is seven months old, but it hasn't sold next to anything. So you'd think the sales would be greater for a song that's getting such radio reception (then again is it with the lopsided ratio?) She doesn't have to pull Katy numbers to be selling better. Cher Lloyd would be an example of how I'd expect Demi to be doing, at least in top ten/fifteen of the sales chart.
But I was just expressing shock over the numbers, congrats to her.

Very, but it's even more ridiculous that radio is already done with Want U Back even though it's been in iTunes Top 10 for nearly 2 months now. Radio seems off right now, & I don't understand why other songs that are not selling amazingly are so much higher on radio (obviously talking about GYHAB - not a diss to Demi but it's just the example I'm thinking of. WHYB is another example of this).
It so weird! It's like radio big wigs decided from the get go that they were gonna be one hit wonders and now they don't wanna play this even though it could be huge.
Anyway when Britney hit #1 on Pop she was at least in the top 15/20 and the song had peaked at #5 on iTunes. Neither of the singles have impressive sales but Demi's case is much different and worse.

"I Wanna Go" was still amongst the top audiences of last Summer, though! Only behind Katy, LMFAO and Pitbull which were the rulers of last Summer, Katy of course a natural radio sweetheart. The difference is her sales were healthy during its radio run, as were the likes of "Super Bass" and "Edge of Glory," both scored 65-70m+ in Pop audience and they were obviously way bigger than "IWG". The dickhead attitude is not needed, my observation is valid, sorry!

Yeah but it was selling tons while fun./Gotye were number one (I think half of its time atop HDS was during Gotye reign atop Hot 100) and then the sales were never ginormous like their multiple weeks of ~300k and Gotye doing 542k that one week.

No. I only pulled out "PRA" and "IGF" because they are the easiest examples. Jennifer said it was a boring Summer, and it was. "California Gurls" and "Love The Way You Lie" (plus "Airplanes," "Cooler Than Me," "Dynamite," etc. etc. all 2010) were exciting shifts in Summer music. This year we just dealt with the remains of Spring's hits plus some modest shake-ups ("Wide Awake," "Lights," so forth).
And it should be up to #18 tomorrow!
At least it gained a lot of spins today.
