Some of the comments on mediatakeout.com say that it's a karaoke edition of janet's cd on a FLOPpy disk

She is the exact oppposite of Mariah who probably takes song-writing tips from radio executives.
Mariah's album will probably be dumb enough to sell a few million, and it would be nice to see Janet comfortably go platinum. Thankfully Madonna has a chance to outsell the bore that is Mariah with Timbo/Timber on her side.

I haven't the slightest clue what you're talking about. Mariah at least has some hand in writing everyone of her songs. Every song on Discipline with the exception of the raunchy songs were written by someone other than Janet. I didn't feel like TEOM was overproduced. It was actually a solid, accomplished album with a lot of good songs (and a few bad). 20 Y.O. and DJ were nearly all bad. And btw, Janet hasn't "refused" to be radio-friendly--she just isn't. Seriously, there is something deeply wrong in Janet's life. She seems like she's in a trance and all she can think about is sex and whispering. She just seems so apathetic since All For You. I agree Mariah is over-the-top but at least she's trying!!

Janet's sex song is no different than what anybody else's is doing it's just because it's Janet's that people have a problem with it. seriously if you listen to half the songs on the radio there about sex anyway or have sexual references in them and overall her albums are not about sex especially if you look at them as whole, all for you wasn't even all about sex it's just that would you mid completely over shadow the album. but the over all album was about divorce and moving on.
Damita jo is the only Janet album that is actually about sex,
20 Yo wasn't overally sexual at all.

NO, janet is a broken record who keeps singing the same songs over and over again, and i really don't know any mainstream artist out there that has every album of theirs focused on sex. rihanna and nelly use innuendo and have class. they also don't sing primarily about sex and when you hear them in interviews they actually have ambitions, unlike janet who's just horny as hell. janet is just filthy and embarassing (when i was 9-years old i saw her on TRL bragging about wearing cockrings in a music video). if you listen to Loose, GGGB, LAMB, Blackout, B'Day, Dutchess...they've all got a few sex songs...but w/ Janet the sex songs always outweigh the rest of the garbage on her albums. Xtina talks about sex too much IMO also, but at least she sings w/ conviction and makes her albums really innovative and ecclectic. And YES, 20 y.o. was almost entirely about sex (even 'Daybreak'). All For You was mostly sex too (i.e. "I wanna ride your package tonight", "I wanna kiss you, suck you, ****, ride, make you come too", "your juices deep inside of me", "as your hands move up my thigh"...i could go on and on ). Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis's brilliance is better spent on someone more deserving than her, that's why i'm glad they're not on Discipline. they're like 90% of the reason why Control through Velvet Rope were so good.

and thank you for quoting would you mind when yuo could of just of eailsy quoted trust a try, son of a gun, doesn't really matter, truth, better days and ect, which proves my point the album isn't entirely bout sex , and I could do the same with 20 Yo, call on me, Enjoy, weren't about sex at all either
and what happen to do Jimmy Jam, and Terry on All for you , Damita Jo and 20 yo nothing because they EP, All for you, Damita jo, and 20 Yo . which proves people just like hating for the sake of hating

Prince, Peaches, Madonna, George Michael, Liz Phair are just a few of the names i can think of. These people actually know how to write good sex songs. Any horny 15-year old in America can basically do what Janet is doing. Please wake up out of your blind faith for janet and realize how trashy she's become. i apologize for using Blackout as an example. as for Beyonce, she knows where the line is and doesn't cross it repeatedly the way janet does. theres a difference between sexy and sexual. janet is beyond sexual actually, she's quite repulsive these days. I liked All For You btw and IMO that's her last good album, but it also foreshadowed the 2 crappy albums that followed.

^You're such a hater!
Janet doesn't even write all of her songs if any! Their not even trashy. She doesn't do it for publicity like some of the previous artists that you named. Your argument is CRAP!

^ok then, if you say so. i didn't "hate" janet until Damita Jo. anyone who still likes/defends her is wrong. she has sabotaged all of her legacy pre-2002 to become the total ***** she is today. i'm sorry if that's rude, but anyone who seriously defends her music as being good needs to be committed. i still hear some shred of dignity left in her when she does interviews, but her songs make me realize what a waste she's become. she needs to move out of the spotlight if she's not going to clean up her act or at least WOW us w/ something worth listening to!
