What are people's opinions or MacBooks?

I need a new computer like now and I found a lot of refurbished MacBooks on Walmart.com. They're super cheap but I know from the body style that they're old. They have the white body and my ex had that style but I can't remember when they came out/when they were discontinued. I could google but meh. So since those MacBooks are like 150-300 bucks are they a decent deal? They run OS X and the specs seem good enough

Id get a 2015 macbook. I wouldn't recommend getting a macbook that was more than a year or two old.

Jesus. Yeah I know Macs aren't the best spec value for the buck but this next computer will probably be with me for a good 4-5 years or more. And I'd like to try OS Mac OS X Sierra X before I'm too old 😫

I completely understand how you feel, but for your first time then you should probably splurge and go for a newer one. Maybe 2012-2015, I've seen some refurbished/used ones on Amazon for as low as $300. That old white one may not even last you 4-5 years...

Haha I know. I just have a hole in my pocket. The only reason I'm kinda not aiming for a new MacBook is that the Air doesn't have retina and the Pro hasn't been updated for a while and the new MacBook seems to have traded usability for style. I'm sure USB C is cool but I don't feel like dealing with dongles or replacing what I have.

What USB ports do the most recent Air and Pro models have? Is it USB 2.0 or 3.0?

Yeah I'd stay away from the new USB C Macbook, too much of a hassle especially if you're on a budget.

Both of the newer ones have USB 3 ports. It's better you do some research on features and prices, you'd be surprised by what great deals you could find

So I've finally found success in downloading iOS 10 on my iPhone, loving it so far! Even the subtle change of the effect when you open folders is slaying me.

I downloaded the public beta to my iPad and like it. I don't know whether to risk downloading it to my phone though I haven't encountered any major bugs yet but I don't if I want to take a risk for my phone

I tried like 10 times on my iPad & every time it failed but succeeded first time on my iPhone. I didn't wanna download it to my phone either because I thought it was risky but I've had nothing major so far, it seems safe enough.

It depends on the app. Twitter works on my iPad running iOS 10. I don't have Facebook to test but I've heard reports that it crashes upon opening.

I agree it might not be for everybody but the Retina MacBook and more expensive Chrome Pixel both use USB C because USB C is vastly superior technology to USB 3.0.

I have a retina MacBook and love it. I hook it up to my huge Dell monitor when at home and I power it and charge my phone all with one USB C Port. My only grump is they don't offer 16gb of ram and the speed.

Hey everyone, I'm an iPhone user. White 5C 32GB here.

I'm considering getting a 7+ or a 6S+ if I don't like it. I was considering getting a Nexus phone or a Samsung Galaxy but my bank doesn't support Android Pay or Samsung Pay.

I have a gaming PC so I'm keeping that. My laptop is kinda bad though and it feels so cheap. I want to get a Macbook in the future.

No, but the chargers come in two pieces: the front half that connects to your MBP and the second half that connects to an outlet.

If it's fraying or yellowing/melting near the part that connects to you MBP, they can just swap out the first piece and it's cheaper than replacing the entire charger. I have had that done 1 or 2 times.

I never bought AppleCare, and my one-year warranty is long expired. The outer material near the port is torn, but I don't really want to pay any money for a new charger, because I'll buy the new MBP when Apple releases it later this year. My charger works, but I hate that it's torn nn.

Is it worth a shot to just go in and ask?
