Swimming is so exciting to me. I can thank Michael Phelps for that, of course.
But track and field >>>>>>>>. Allyson Felix will slay and Tyson Gay will redeem himself.
Ya'll ain't never seen me stan until you've watched me cheer on AF! That is my girrllll! I might change my avi from Mariah to her throughout the games. I just KNOW she's snatching that gold in the 200m. And Sanya Richards is going to get her gold in the 400m. In fact the American girls are going to snatch the 100m gold, 200m gold, 400m gold, 4x100m gold, and 4x400m gold.
QUEEN'S of T&F
I mean, how crazy was the relay from Beijing in 08? I still rewatch it allll the time:

I remember this. I haven't heard much about it but I thought they had to forfeit their medals?!
Nope. The Chinese girls kept their medals. I only think maybe 3 of them were under age though in 2008.

Franklin just decimated the competition. First under :59.00 this year, and the world isn't ready.
1 down.
Ugh, I hate that she beat Natalie
There goes Coughlin's consecutive Olympic title record

I wish Shawn Johnson was still competing in womens gymnastics.
I know, I loved Shawn despite her lacking of artistry. On the bright side Nastia Liukin (2008 Olympic All Around Champ.) is still competing and has a spot @ trials. Hopefully she'll make the team. And she's been looking very fit recently as well:
She made it to the finals in the trials with 13 other people. the standard they had to jump to get in was 6 ft. and she jumped it on the first try. The finals are Saturday. Let's cross fingers and hope she gets to the Olympics because she is the underdog of the competition.

That's amazing! She seems to be very consistent that she got it on the first. Your family and her affiliation must be very proud!
I missed the trials for the women gymnastics sis, can you spill the tea on what went down?
1st day of trials Nastia fell on Uneven bars and finished 7th on balance beam. Things could go better tomorrow, but it isn't likely she'll make the team.
Quote:
"We tried our hardest," said Valeri Liukin, Nastia's father and coach, seeming to concede that whatever happens Sunday in the final night of Olympic qualifying, it won't put his daughter on the team again.
"I'm proud of myself in coming back," Liukin said. "It maybe didn't turn out how I wanted, but I tried my best."

Looking like 08 Nastia
She's still the second most decorated American gymnast of all time though, so that sits well.
& Jordyn Weiber, Gabby Douglas, and Aly Raisman are pretty much locks for the team.
