However, it's extremely hypocritical to bash Catholics (or anyone of any religion, for that matter) simply for identifying with that religion. It's a two-way street: you can't treat others without respect and expect them to treat you with respect.

Seriously? You can't have a civilized discussion? It was just my opinion and what I think might happen.

religion is based on ideas and beliefs.. its perfectly reasonable to think that religions will die out for the belief of science.. which if you want, we can call it another religion then.

I am not saying it will die out in 10 -20 years... it will take probably many more centuries.. but it probably will die out.. If you can't discuss it civally and bring your arguments, then I suggest you get out of the thread.

Islam accounts for about 1.4 billion people, while Christianity in total accounts for over 2 billion. Catholicism alone almost has as many followers as Islam.
