I finally finished the show today. I definitely took my time as I wanted savor it.
I personally really enjoyed season 7, and I thought the finale had its moments, despite not giving closure to many of the characters. I can't wait for the Netflix episodes.

Yeah we fans like to act like season 7 didn't exist but we're mostly joking, it's not that bad, it's just not the same show/same soul.
+ Whoever wrote season 7 had to deal with the mess Amy SP created halfway through season 6 (April, Anna and, later on, putting Lorelai in bed with Christopher). She’s not a saint. She created this whole mess and then left the show/got fired.
The spirit of the show was still there in season 6 but I wasn’t happy with the way the story was led, and season 7 was definitely damage control/fixing all the mess but I love ALL of Gilmore Girls and don’t resent season 7 at all (in fact, "Santa’s Secret Stuff" is one of my favorite episodes of the series).
Season 6 has its story problems but at least the dialogues were still sharp, clever and full of energy, while a lot of Season 7 fails because there’s no heart anymore. It’s just going through the motions. But worst of all, the characters don’t behave like themselves. They feel like pod people versions of themselves.
Luke’s Diner is destroyed and Rory LAUGHS about it? That’s not Rory! She would never do that. Lorelai marrying Christopher? That was AWFUL stuff.
Fortunately it ended quite well. But I’m looking forward for what’s to come.

Season 7 just felt very dull and the dialogue especially felt cringeworthy. You could tell they were trying to channel Amy's writing but it wasn't the same.
The fact that they couldnt decide if they wanted a season 8 or not though is what killed the finale.

Amy still didn't watch season 7, she said she would NEVER and that it would be torture for her to watch her baby get disfigured. Even her husband Daniel didn't.
Before writing the 4 movies for Netflix, she said she had to ask her friends to tell her orally what's going on in each episodes of season 7.
A mess.

I couldn't tolerate any scenes with Anna and April. I loved Luke's character, but they really dragged him down for me. As for Christopher, he annoyed me, but I enjoyed his part in season 7. I'd happily accept more of him over Anna and April. In a way, I'm happy Amy left as she would have probably ruined the seventh season. However, I feel the show stayed rather consistent through the end. I don't think I'd be able to rank the seasons as there are things I loved in each one.
Thus far, I'm not happy with April's return and Sutton Foster's casting, but Amy's had 9 years. Let's hope she comes back with quality writing and serves those final four words.

THIS. ASP screwed over the show in S6 because of contract problems between her and the studio. She was willing to mess up the show over personal disputes.

I was streaming episodes randomly on my phone with the Netflix app and I saw 3.07, definitely one of the best
Dean is such a s*** for dumping Rory and humiliating her at the end of a 24 hour exhausting dance marathon, the balls he got, really classy
---------------------------------------------
I just finished the 6.05 as well and the end is ICONIC. Emily at her best. She just learned that the story about Rory being humiliated at the Huntzberger house was true, so she goes to Shira Huntzberger to give her a better table:
▧▧▧
Emily: So Richard tells me we have a little problem.
Shira: Really? With what?
Emily: With the kids- Logan, Rory.
I understand you're not exactly
thrilled with the match, that you let that be known to Rory at the dinner she had at your house.
Shira: Oh, well, I wouldn't say "not thrilled.
Emily: Then what would you say?
Shira: Oh, Emily, this is a party.
Emily: I'm just curious.
Shira: This may not be the time and place, Emily.
Emily: Let's make it the time and place.
Shira: Consider the discrepancies, Emily.
Emily: That's what's confusing me. They both come from good families, both have good values. Money doesn't seem to be an issue. We all have money.
Shira: Frankly, Emily, there's your money, then there's our money.
Emily: Oh? really?
Shira: And our family has a lot of responsibilities that come with that, an image to maintain.
Quote:
Emily: "Let me tell you this, Shira- we are just as good as you are. You don't think Rory is good enough for your son, as if we don't know Logan's reputation. We do. But he is welcome in our home anytime, and you should extend the same courtesy to Rory. Now let's talk about your money. You were a two-bit gold digger, fresh off the bus from Hicksville when you met Mitchum at whatever prostitute bar you happened to stumble into. And what made Mitchum decide to choose you to marry amongst the pack of women he was bedding at the time, we'll never know. But hats off to you for bagging him. He's still a playboy, you know? Of course you know. That would explain why your weight goes up and down 30 pounds every other month. But that's your cross to bear. But these are ugly realities. No one needs to talk about them. Those kids are staying together for as long as they like. You won't stop them my dear, not under my watch.
Now, enjoy the event."

Both flawless episodes. I still remember the old television promo for the Dance Marathon episode.
I was a kid and was gagging at how mad Dean was. I was PERCHED on my couch to watch it. lol

All three Gilmore women looking flawless.
I don't think she will, but Rory better not have ended up as a high school teacher.

I just finished and felt the same way... for the first half of the season. I thought the second half was much better. The karaoke scene is iconic
