I still don't think the new album will ever leave the number 1 spot on Kworb tbh.

I see why a Knee fan would be mad at Adele and her impact.

Can you elaborate on how it changed music forever?

BOMT...The biggest era ever
its not even the biggest female era. In terms of sales, memorability, impact, awards/acclaim and cultural relevancy Whitneys Bodyguard era easily trumps it and 21 was more successful, I mean its common sense

21. BOMT sold huge numbers in an era where huge numbers weren't nearly as uncommon as they are today. Selling 30 million (well, 28M) in 2011-2012 while all the others struggle to reach 10 million is like if Britney had sold something like 50 or 60 million with BOMT.

But did anyone really care about BOMT aside from teenagers? 21 has mass appeal. How many mothers and daughters jammed to Britney together (willingly) compared to mothers and daughters listening to 21? It's speculation but it'd be very surprising to find out that 21 had as many demographics caring about it as BOMT.

Don't worry, it should crossover 30 million soon after the new album comes out and 21 gets yet another massive boost.

21. And I strongly claim that.
It used to be easier to sell 20M+ back in 1998. BOMT's sales weren't as impressive as one would thought at that time. 21 has sold 30M in an era when album sales are mostly tragic.
BOMT's only successful singles were BOMT and Crazy. 21 had three mega smash hits (RITD,SLY,SFTTR) and a minor hit (Rumour Has It).
21 is a huge catalog seller, BOMT is not. And the year gap is NOT an excuse. If BOMT was as big as one would claim, it would still chart in the low positions of Billboard 200 like Nickelback, Michael Jackson, Metallica, The Beatles, Nirvana albums. Even the debut album by Taylor Swift charts now and then.
21 has 5 Grammys and BOMT has zero.

21 has yet to compare to Dangerous' sales, let alone Thriller.
21 beats BOMT in critical acclaim, but why are people taking the 24 million figure from metacritic, a website that has nothing to do with sales or charts? BOMT has over 20 million certs, that easily puts its estimates close to 30 million for a 1999 record. Titanic's soundtrack sold 30M with 18M certs (1997), #1 by The Beatles has 21M certs for 31M sales (2000), Let's Talk About Love by Celine has 19M certs for 30M sales (1997), Supernatural by Santana has 20M certs for 30M sales (1999). This is how certs translate for late 90s/early 2000s records, BOMT has sold more than 21, though 21 is still selling so may end up reaching the 30M mark if follow up sales with Adele's new record are good.
Regardless, neither come close to any of Michael's three records over 30 million: Thriller, Bad & Dangerous (only artist to have more than one record sell over 30 million too!)

21, My god If that album were sent out in 1999 now it would be bigger than thriller.

21's chart-runs are more impressive than Thriller's in most countries.

Lol the Britney fans need to stop being so delusional.
21 is the biggest female era ever and 2nd biggest overall only to Thriller. Absolutely everyone knows that album and it's singles. It's so acclaimed and already considered a classic.
BOMT is a HUGE album and it definitely made its mark, and is remembered for the breakthrough of Britney (the lead single is arguably the biggest debut single ever and one of the overall biggest songs), but it still doesn't compare to what 21 did in this market. The absolute domination 21 had is just unreal.
