IE 11 slays tbh but I never use it because of the stigma.

It lacks cool extensions but isn't a memory hog like Google Chrome. The only reason Chrome beat IE is because of the silent updates.

IE is on like version 11 after 20 years, while Chrome is on version 41 after seven. They update and fix **** all the time and we never really know.

I say they should copy the Chrome model, give developers great development tools and snatch.

But

if they name the browser anything related to Trojan.

About damn time tbh.

It's still internet explorer under the hood. The rendering engine and JS engine are the same as IE. That means terrible performance when compared to chrome, FF and Safari (if on Apple products). IE doesn't support web components. It will support the classical programming paradigm but not in the way a classical programmer would expect. MSFT simply renamed and reskinned IE. Its the same crap underneath yet people are acting like this is really a new product. I guess there really is a sucker born every minute....multiple suckers if ATRL is anything to go by.

It won't matter because most developers develop with macs as it is vastly superior to using windows when it comes to that purpose because OSX is a version of Unix under the hood.

programs too. It did not use to be that way. IIS and .net was more competitive back in the early 00s. However, with the passage of time every company I have worked for in the last 5 years has always used almost exclusively *nix for sites and apps/programs. The only people who didn't use them were people who don't actually write any code...like business people and pms. Sometimes they might use a windows box or partition their mac to use windows when they need it. It's the reason why Java has remained to popular.

Notice C# all the way down to #10 in what languages people are using in the real world. HTML5 and related technologies are what people are actually using in the real world. Even most native apps have HTML5 components in them. iBooks, iTunes, NYT, FB, LinkedIn, Google Apps etc... all use HTML5 and related technologies. Javascript isn't done yet. Web Components will introduce a new paradigm where the HTML5 technologies will be even more competitive with native applications. You will get a mish mash of HTML5 and SWIFT/JAVA/Python/C/C# to get the best mix depending on your use case.

Sis, I've worked professionally as a software engineer for the past 7 years, at least check my profile before making these types of assumptions

. Saying that "Most developers develop with macs" is a lie, especially when hardly half of the world's pool of software engineers can afford one.

The only real reason there was a spike in development on Mac is because it is required to develop native/non-cordova apps for the App store.

And even if you are strictly into web development/non-native software, implying that Internet Explorer won't matter is silly. Any decent developer that cares about cross compatibility testing believes otherwise.

It's true. Internet Explorer has improved a LOT recently, but people still think it's bad because of the 00's, it's kind of unfair really, but that's the way the world works I guess.

It's a fine browser for the 99% of people who only use the Internet to go on Facebook, check their emails, search Google, watch Youtube videos, etc. But other browsers were technically better.

About 10 years ago I switched from IE to Firefox, simply because Firefox had separate tabs, and on IE if you wanted multiple sites at the same time you'd have to open the program again and again, which was very messy sometimes. But shortly after that, IE added tabs so I went back to it lol. I mainly use Chrome now, but still have IE or Firefox when I need them.

chrome has been annoying of late. Gonna go back to firefox
