SLY was rush released due to public demand after her 2011 Brit performance last february. It leaped to no1 in the UK via digital sales after that. But it was SFTTR that was actually due to be released as the 2nd single as it was in parts of Europe. In fact SFTTR clocks up its 52nd week in the UK charts this week.
But the release dates all got messy as they do these days. Yes SFTTR was officially released in July but it had been in the UK charts for several months already.
Point is, certain tracks can overshadow each other at certain times but they can still have their day eventually.
